As winter approaches and tans start to fade many of us maintain the result by using tanning beds.
Studies have shown that the effect of tanning beds on our skin are not so good:
• Although it is widely known that tanning beds can affect the development of skin cancer, more than 1 million Americans have tanning sessions every day.
• Nearly 28 million people use tanning beds in the United States each year. Of these, 2.3 million are adolescents.
• Nearly 70% of tanning salons customers are women, mainly aged 16 -29 years.
• Using indoor tanning beds before the age of 35 can increase your risk of melanoma (the deadliest form of skin cancer).
• Studies have shown that indoor tanning can lead to premature skin aging, immune suppression, and eye damage.
So, it is better to prefer the natural way of tanning. Enjoy the sun we have in our country, receiving the necessary precautions.
Don't forget the sunscreen, hat and sunglasses, as well as avoid sun exposure between 12 and 4.
Take care of your skin as this will compensate you with a radiant and youthful look for years.
