Summer is wonderful. We rest, swim in the sea and recharge our batteries for the winter.
But in the summer there are also minor accidents such as stepping on a sea urchin or a jellyfish sting.
What we should do if we don't have ammonia or any other medicine:
• Keep your temper and do not panic. Get Out of the Water.
• Slowly and carefully remove any remaining tentacles. Caution: Not with bare hands.
• Thoroughly rinse with sea water and gently rub the affected area with some sand. Caution: Never rinse the affected area with fresh water.
• Put something cold in the area, either ice or a bottle of cold water. It relieves swelling, redness and pain.
• For stinging and itching, apply vinegar to the affected area. It is recommended to have some cortisone cream with you for such cases.
• If the sting is in a large area, get antihistamine pills from a pharmacy.
• Special care is needed if you are allergic to jellyfish sting. Then you should immediately go to the nearest Hospital or Health Center.
If you do not know that you are allergic, but still have severe symptoms, such as nausea or difficulty in breathing or you feel dizzy and your blood pressure drops or you have fast beating rate, or you want to vomit, then immediately go to the doctor.
