Injectable fillers restore our face’s lost volume and fill the wrinkles, giving an instant youthful look. With their appropriate use, a completely natural result can be achived, specially adapted to the sex, the age and the special needs of each patient.
Where are the fillers used?
They are used on any part of the face with wrinkles, folds or “deficits” or wherever we want to restore the volume of our face.
• Cheekbones.
• Temples.
• Chin.
• Dark circles under the eyes.
• Nasolabial folds.
• Marionette lines.
• Lips (upper & lower lip contouring and augmentation).
• Acne scars.
How is the treatment carried out and what sabstances are used?
The substance is injected into the treated area with the use of a fine needle or cannula. The most popular ones are, hyaluronic acid implants and that’s because hyaluronic acid is a natural substance of the body which is fully disintegrated over time. We choose the appropriate density of the hyaluronic acid depending on the treated area.
The new trend demands to restore the lost "volumes". Hyaluronic acid of a higher density, are placed “deep” into the face (even above bones) and the ones of lighter density are used to restore more superficial deformities.
Is the fillers treatment painful?
It is usually well tolerated. The use of anesthetic cream or a nerve block anaesthesia to more sensitive areas such as the perioral one, can precede. Besides, nowadays, hyaluronic acid fillers contain anaesthetic in the syringe, thus minimising any intolerance.
What does the skin look like afterwards?
The result is immediately visible. Possible complications could be mild redness, swelling or “irritation” at the injected points which go away within a few days. Sometimes, mild ecchymoses (bruises) might appear which last for approximately 10 days. The use of make-up is allowed 12 hours after the treatment. The patient can immediately go back to his daily routine.
How long does the treatment last?
It depends on the treated area. It depends on the problem and specific needs of each patient. It can last from 15-60 minutes.
What should I be careful of afterwards?
It should be avoided the prolonged sun exposure, temperatures below 0°C as well as the use of sauna and hammam for up to two weeks afterwards.
How long do the results last?
It depends on the density hyaluronic acid we use and the treated area. The result lasts 6-18 months. The more precise the treatment, the longer the result lasts and in maintenance, the amount of hyalouronic acid needed is usually less.
Are there contraindications?
The use of hyaluronic acid fillers is contraindicated:
• To people who suffer from epilepsy that is not treated with medicines.
• To skin that suffers e.g. eczema, psoriasis, herpes etc.
• To pregnant women or lactating mothers.
• To people who suffer from porphyria.
• To patients with a tendency to have hypertrophic scars.
Can fillers be combined with other treatments?
They are combined with other aesthetic protocols such as wrinkle relaxers, mesotherapy, ACR, microdermabrasion, peeling, dermapen, threads, fractional laser, photo-rejuvenation.
